THE Sun Military Awards are back, saluting the finest Armed Forces in the world.

Our glittering awards show, dubbed the Millies, is now in its seventh year.
And we need to hear your nominations for worthy winners NOW to ensure this year’s ceremony tops all the previous ones.
Prince Charles, who came up with the idea for the event, last night praised The Sun for laying on the show and confirmed his and Camilla’s attendance once again.

He said: “I am delighted that this year’s Millies will once again recognise the extraordinary work of our Armed Forces as they face the unrelenting challenges of today's uncertain world.
“Throughout the last year our servicemen and women have continued to demonstrate the courage, resilience and professionalism that we rely upon so heavily.
“My wife and I have the privilege of meeting many service personnel and their families on frequent occasions and are constantly reminded of how fortunate we are as a nation to have such dedicated people serving in our Armed Forces, both at home and abroad.

“We are very much looking forward to the awards in December, which celebrate the achievements and bravery of these remarkable servicemen and women.”
The royals will lead a stellar cast of global superstars and icons from sport, stage, TV and music in a national celebration of another year of exceptional service by Our Boys and Girls across the world.
They will witness winners — carefully selected by our judging panel of former service chiefs and celebrities — as they scoop coveted gongs in a host of categories.
This year’s awards come after another frantic year for Britain’s Armed Forces, in which they have performed incredible heroics all over the globe.

During the past 12 months they have launched mercy missions across Africa and Iraq to aid the victims of international terrorism.
They have battled floods at home and plugged the gap when NHS workers went on strike this month.
And in recent weeks Tornado jets have carried out a series of surgical strikes against terror cult Islamic State jihadists threatening to set up a caliphate spreading from Beirut to Baghdad.
And right now 750 of our troops are preparing to head to Sierra Leone to battle killer bug Ebola.
But the biggest milestone for Our Boys and Girls this year is the imminent end of the conflict in Afghanistan.
The brutal fight against the Taliban has claimed 453 British lives. It ends this year.
So the Millies — established in the white heat of that conflict — will PAY special tribute to those who fought 8,000 miles away to protect Britain’s streets from al-Qaeda’s global terror menace.
That special tribute means the format for this year’s Millies will differ from previous years.
Instead of public nominations in every category there will now only be public nominations in the Support to the Armed Forces category.
There will be a total of eight Millie awards presented to heroes across the Armed Forces at the ceremony, which will once again be broadcast on ITV.
Apart from the Support to the Armed Forces category, shortlists for the awards have been selected internally by the Services.
In another break with tradition, four special Millie awards will recognise those who have contributed in four areas of the Afghan war.

Winners will be selected by our judging panel, which includes former First Sea Lord Admiral Lord West and former Chief of the Air Staff Sir Peter Squire, Sun columnists and telly hosts Lorraine Kelly and Jeremy Clarkson, SAS legend Andy McNab and injured ex-Royal Marines hero Ben McBean.
Meanwhile we need our loyal army of readers to nominate a worthy winner for the Support to the Armed Forces gong.
This award goes to any group, organisation or individual who has gone above and beyond to support the services and their families at home or abroad.
You can nominate by filling out our simple online form below.
